WATCH: Sea lion pulls girl into water
A little girl escaped unhurt after a Sea Lion pulled her into the sea in British Columbia.
The incident was captured on camera and has since gone viral with several videos posted to Youtube.
The incident took place on Steveston Fisherman's Wharf in Richmond, British Columbia on Saturday when the California sea lion popped its head out of the water.
The little girl and her family were said to be feeding the Sea Lion which at one point lunged close to the girl's face to her delight.
Her glee soon turned to horror when the animal lunged again, grabbing her backwards into the water.
A man standing nearby, believed to be a relative, jumped into the water immediately and rescued the child.
She was immediately hustled away.
Bob Baziuk, the general manager of the Steveston Harbour Authority, told CNN that the girl and her rescuer were not hurt, and that he is trying to get more information about the incident.
He said the harbour is on the sea lions' migratory route and that males sometimes swim into the area looking for free food. He said that they've been warning visitors not to feed the animals for years.
