WATCH: Trini boat capsizes, sinks at Grenada fishing tournament

A Trinidadian led-crew had a narrow escape at a fishing tournament in Grenada over the weekend after the boat they were in capsized and sank. 

The tournament, Spice Island Billfish Tournament Grenada, said around 12:34 on Sunday that the Godda Go had begun taking on water and the Coast Guard was called in to assist.

Organisers said everyone was taken off the boat safely, however the boat sank beneath the waters and was unable to be salvaged.

According to Now Grenada, the boat was registered for the tournament by Trinidadian Faizal Mohammed, captain of a crew of six including Richard Drurity, Noble Marques, Christopher Simpson and Marco Passar.

Luckily the team was rescued by another boat, and they came to shore around 2:00 pm on Sunday.
