Watchman shot dead in Guayaguayare
A 36-year-old watchman was gunned down Tuesday night in Guayaguayare.
The deceased has been identified as Mark Christopher of Newlands.
Christopher was walking north along Guayaguayare Road around 9 pm on Tuesday in the company of a female companion towards his workplace at La Savanna Circular.
Just before arriving, the woman left his company and Christopher was walking alone.
Several explosions were heard shortly after, and the 32-year-old man was found bleeding on the ground from multiple gunshots.
The police and emergency health services were notified and Christopher was rushed to the Mayaro District Health Facility.
However, he succumbed to his injuries.
A team of officers from the Eastern Division and the Homicide Bureau responded.
Five spent shells were said to have been recovered on location.
An autopsy is expected to be performed on Wednesday at the Forensic Sciences Centre to confirm the cause of death.
