Water supply to New Grant and environs affected by ruptured main
The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) has advised of a service disruption for customers in New Grant and environs served by the St. Julien Booster Station.
The disruption is due to a ruptured 16-inch transmission main, caused by a landslide along Sixth Company Circular Road, New Grant.
Emergency repair works currently underway are expected to be completed by 12 midnight Saturday 22nd September.
Areas affected include:
Along Moruga Road from Naparima Mayaro Road Junction to Cachipe including all side streets, Matilda, Rochard Road, Cunjal, Cumuto, Sixth Company Road, Hindustan, Madingo, Fifth Company, Indian Walk, Craignish, Lengua, St Marys, parts of New Grant, Monkey Town, St. Julien Village and Naparima Mayaro Road from New Grant to Quan Kep.
Customers are further advised by WASA that following the completion of repairs, it may take up to 12 hours for the scheduled pipe borne water supply to normalize to some affected areas.
