Water supply restored to North Trinidad

Water supplies to parts of North Trinidad have been restored as water treatment plants have restarted their services following disruptions caused by heavy rainfall.

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) advised that all impacted facilities have returned to service, with the exception of the Matura Water Treatment Plant.

The plant is expected to be restarted today as conditions continue to improve.

Customers are advised that it may take up to 24 hours to normalise service in keeping with regular pipe borne water supply schedules.

A limited truck-borne service will be available with priority given to special homes and health care institutions, WASA added.
