Wealth Bill unanimously passed in Senate

The Civil Asset Recovery and Management and Unexplained Wealth Bill, 2019, is one step closer to becoming law in Trinidad and Tobago.

After nine hours in the Committee stage on Tuesday, the Senate unanimously passed the Bill.

The Bill seeks to recover wealth accrued through criminal activity.

It will go on to the Senate on Tuesday for amendments to be considered.

The Senate will also consider amendments to the Non-profit Organisations Bill which was passed last Thursday.
