WhyFarm is 1 of 15 winners at Misk Global Forum in Saudi Arabia

Farmpreneur and agri-youth advocate Alpha Sennon is continuing to put his organisation, WhyFarm on the map following his recent win at the Misk Global Forum.

Sennon announced via Instagram that WhyFarm was 1 of 15 winners at the Misk Global Challenge, a competition that tasks young innovators from around the world to develop innovative solutions to global challenges. Of the 100 competitors, 15 winners are chosen. The Misk Global Challenge is done in collaboration with the Misk Foundation and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

The award was given at the recently concluded Misk Global Forum held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

"Today is a very special day for me and the team. We're about to execute an amazing project in Trinidad and Tobago and hopefully scale it up throughout the Caribbean.

WhyFarm is a nonprofit organisation based in Trinidad and Tobago, aimed at educating and engaging youth in agriculture. It's also meant to raise awareness about food security concerns globally, as well as expands the “future feeders of 2050” through agri-edutainment (agricultural education and entertainment).

The organisation works with schools and schedules farm visits, trying to rebrand the agricultural sector by making it an attractive, viable option to youth, as well as tackling food and nutrition security locally and across the globe.

The Misk Global Forum is an ongoing platform that brings young leaders, creators and thinkers together with established global innovators to explore, experience and experiment with ways to meet the challenge of change.

It serves as the flagship global platform of the Misk Foundation, a non-profit philanthropic foundation established by Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman to discover, develop and empower young people in Saudi Arabia, and beyond to become active participants in the future economy.
