Santa Cruz police are investigating a report of malicious damage where at least five homes were damaged by people throwing rocks on Monday morning.
The incident reportedly took place in the Saddle Grove, Santa Cruz, community.
Police said that around 1:00 am on Monday, residents in the area awoke to loud crashing sounds of something being broken.
Upon investigating, they observed at least three men fleeing the scene on foot - it appeared as though the assailants threw stones at the properties.
Several windows were smashed and cars parked in the neighbourhood as well as other items were damaged.
A resident shared a post to social media warning people in the area of the incident.
"Neighbours - please be on high alert! Last night, from about 1:30am to 2:37am when the police came, a few houses in Saddle Grove and Saddle Vale were attacked by persons throwing stones and coconuts onto the roofs and at windows. Attempts were also made to enter one house of Saddle Vale from the Saddle Grove park side. I can confirm that two houses in Saddle Vale sustained broken glass panes as a result of the attack," he said.
