Woman, 24, found dead at guest house
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 24-year-old Belmont woman.
The young woman was discovered dead at a guest house on Saturday afternoon.
She has been identified as Jadesha Gray of Upper Belle Bau Road, Belmont.
According to reports, around 6.40 pm on Friday Gray went to La Mirage hotel located at College Road, St Augustine and booked an apartment for a 24-hour period.
Around 6 pm on Saturday, the owner of the premises made several attempts to locate the woman, who he believed was still in the apartment.
He told police he made attempts over a period of four hours to contact her, however, he did not receive a response.
The owner became suspicious and contacted the police.
Police arrived shortly afterwards and observed the woman's vehicle parked to the eastern side of the building.
At 11.30 pm the officers with the assistance of the owner forcefully gained entry into the apartment.
They discovered the woman dead in the bathroom.
The District Medical Officer visited the scene and pronounced the woman dead.
Police say the woman allegedly died by suicide, however, an autopsy is expected to be conducted.
