Woman chopped in robbery at her business place

A woman escaped with her life after she was attacked, along with another female, during a robbery at her business place in San Fernando.

Around 10.30 am on Wednesday, 47-year-old entrepreneur Angela Ramsundar and 40-year-old receptionist Vashti Ramnarine were at their workplace at the Trinidad Dialysis Centre at Lower Hillside.

A man entered the building pretending to be a customer and started speaking with Ramsundar while a second man entered a short while later. The first “customer” then announced a hold-up.

The men tied up both victims and made them lie face down on the floor.

They robbed Ramnarine of three gold earrings and two cellphones.

Ramsundar was chopped to the face, head and fingers during the robbery.

She was rushed to the hospital after both suspects fled on foot and underwent emergency surgery.

Investigations are continuing.
