Woman dead after early morning accident in Piarco

A 22-year-old woman is dead following a motor vehicular accident on Saturday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Akeisha Allard of Edinburgh 500, Chaguanas.

LoopTT was told that at around 4:20 am, Allard was driving a silver Nissan Wingroad motor vehicle along the Golden Grove Road, Piarco, when upon reaching the vicinity of the Piarco Police Station, she lost control of the car and veered off the roadway.

The vehicle came to a stop in a drain on the eastern side of the roadway.

Persons who witnessed the accident notified the police and emergency health services.

Allard was rushed to the Arima District Health Facility, however, she succumbed to her injuries shortly after 5 am.

A team of officers led by W/Sgt Babb and WPC Charles visited the scene.
