A woman is in serious condition after she was struck by a vehicle in Valencia.
The incident took place on Friday, along St Alban’s Road, police said.
The victim was walking along the side of the roadway, with two grocery bags, when she was struck by a black sedan. At the time, the driver of the car, police were told, was in the process of over taking another vehicle when he lost control of his car, and came into contact with the woman.
The impact resulted in the victim being thrown an estimated 20 feet.
She suffered serious lacerations and broken bones.
An alarm was raised and she was rushed to the Sangre Grande district hospital. She remained warded up to this morning.
The driver of the car has since been questioned and is aiding with inquiries.
