Woman returns home after report of kidnapping

A 30-year-old woman, who was allegedly kidnapped outside of a school on Monday morning, has been recovered.

Roxanne Rajkumar, police said, was found near the Ste Madeleine Pond on Wednesday morning.

She told police that she had been kidnapped after dropping her son off at his preschool along Rochard Douglas Road in Barrackpore.

She said a Nissan Tiida pulled in front of her and two men bundled her into the vehicle.

She said was then taken to a house at an unknown location where she was tied up and kept against her will.

She said one of the assailants, who she knew, had a gun and threatened to kill her repeatedly.

She said that one such occasion was when she got a call from police and said she was forced at gunpoint to tell the inquiring officer that she was ‘OK’ and would come home ‘when she was ready’.

After her release on Thursday morning, Rajkumar was taken for medical treatment and is aiding with inquiries.

A search is on for the two assailants.

More on this as it becomes available.
