Woman robbed of $30,000 at knife-point in broad daylight

Police are investigating after a woman was robbed at knifepoint in broad daylight in St James.

According to police reports the incident took place around 11.15 am on Saturday morning near the corner of Calcutta and Patna Streets, St James.

The victim, who was going to Western Union in Long Circular Mall to send $30,000 to Venezuela, was standing at the corner of Calcutta and Patna Streets, waiting to cross the road.

However, two men approached her, one armed with a knife, and announced a hold-up.

The suspects took $30,000, her mobile phone, her registration card and a bank card.

The woman ran off and the suspects escaped.
