A man who allegedly robbed a woman following a motor vehicular accident in Sangre Grande was arrested and charged.
The incident took place on January 4 along Blake Avenue Extension, Guaico, Sangre Grande.
Police were responding to the motor vehicular accident but when they arrived, they were informed by the woman that while she was standing along the road following the accident, she had been accosted and robbed of her cellular phone.
Officers of the Sangre Grande police station responded and they received intelligence which led them to the home of Halie Caleb.
The stolen phone was found inside.
After further questioning, Caleb was detained, and eventually charged.
Caleb went before a Sangre Grande Magistrate this week, however, despite the phone being found in his house, he pled ‘not guilty’ to the offence of robbery with violence.
The matter was adjourned.
