Woman shot in Arouca
A 25-year-old woman is warded at hospital after being shot near her home in Arouca Wednesday night.
The victim has been identified as Kenishe John.
According to police reports, around 7.30 pm yesterday, she was sitting near her fence at her home, at Perkins Street, Arouca, when she heard several explosions and ran into her house.
John then felt a burning sensation to the left buttocks and left hip.
She raised an alarm and neighbours rushed her to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, where she was treated.
Up to Thursday morning, she was said to be in a stable condition.
Crime scene investigators visited the scene and 11 spent shells were recovered.
