Woodbrook man held with weed
A 28-year-old man was fined $10,000 after he plead guilty to being in possession of three packets of marijuana.
The accused, Ariel Clarke, plead guilty to the offence of possession of 741 grammes of marijuana.
He appeared today before Magistrate Nanette Forde John in the Port of Spain Magistrates’ Fifth Court.
The court was told that Clarke was arrested after officers executed a search warrant at his Woodbrook home Thursday morning.
After further submissions, Clarke was fined and given 60 days to pay the sum.
In default, he will face 18 months hard labour.
According to police reports, Clarke was arrested around 12.10 am during a police exercise by officers of the Western Division Task Force.
The team, consisting of Sgt Perry, Cpl Khan, Cpl Richards, PC Taylor, PC Ward, PC Peters, PC Olliverre, PC Thompson, and PC Mc Clean, among several others, received reliable intelligence which led them to Clarke’s home along Alberto Street, Woodbrook.
It was in this house that the drugs were found and seized.
