The Lady Young Road has been reopened to vehicular traffic but is expected to be closed again at 6 pm as cleanup efforts along the roadway are expected to continue following a number of landslips yesterday.

Works have been ongoing throughout the day to clear fallen trees and landslips following heavy rains on Monday night.

The Ministry of Works and Transport reopened the roadway at 4 pm, and is expected to close it again at 6 pm for the resumption of works.

At a media conference on Tuesday to update the public on the ongoing relief efforts being provided to flood victims, National Security Minister Stuart Young noted that the Lady Young has become an issue due to constant land slippage.

He said the Works Ministry is looking into the matter with a view to finding a long term solution.

Young assured that resources, including CEPEP and URP contractors have been deployed to treat with the landslip.
