Lovers of soca music can put their fears aside as the International Soca Monarch (ISM) Competition is set to take place on Fantastic Friday.

There was a general concern about the competition as there hasn't been any buzz about it, especially since Finance Minister Colm Imbert announced a one-third cut in financial allocations to the event.

Holders of the event, the Caribbean Prestige Foundation (CPF) for the Performing Arts, however, announced that the 2018 ISM competition will once again be the event to kick off the carnival weekend.

According to a release, Peter Scoon and his dedicated team at CPF are currently finalizing the details of this year’s event.

The statement added that details of the show will follow in the coming days.
