WPC arrested for marijuana possession in Tobago

A woman police officer with three years of service, has been arrested in Tobago.

Twenty-six-year-old Karita Dalrymple of Belmont Road, Tobago was held on Monday night on an outstanding warrant and charges for possession of marijuana for the purposes of trafficking.

She appeared before Magistrate Indrani Cedeno at the Scarborough Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

The charges are related to marijuana, which was found at Dalrymple’s home in July 2018.

Previously, the officer had been questioned and then released.

Her boyfriend, Kurt ‘Blacka’ Eastman was charged with the offence.

Then in March of this year, the officer was questioned and released again, after her boyfriend was held with marijuana while driving her vehicle.

After inquiries were conducted, Dalrymple was charged and brought before the courts.

She received bail in the sum of $350,000.

The matter is expected to resume on August 27.
