Yoga Minute: 3 ways to breath stress away with yoga

Is stress wearing you down?

Stress has been shown to have a negative effect on our health and quality of living. 

A report by Science Daily said stress can actually pave the way for illnesses like the common cold as the body's immune system becomes weakened. 

However there are three yoga techniques for stress which involve breathing:


1. Counting breath

Counting breaths is a way of decreasing anxiety and can be done in the office, at school, or wherever the stressful situation occurs.

2. Nostril breathing

This sounds redundant, because we breathe through our noses, so what is nostril breathing? 

Alternate nostril breathing is another way to calm the body and mind.

3. Meditative breathing

Focusing on calming thoughts while breathing also helps with stressful situations, such as before an exam or presentation.
