Young participates in sixth Special CONSLE Meeting

National Security Minister Stuart Young (right) joins discussions at the Sixth Special CARICOM CONSLE Meeting, via video conference on 21.06.2019.

National Security Minister Stuart Young participated in the Sixth Special Meeting of the Council for National Security and Law Enforcement (CONSLE) on Friday, held via video conference.

Also representing Trinidad and Tobago at the meeting were Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of National Security, Vel Lewis, and retired Deputy Director of the International Affairs Unit Major Richard Lynch.

The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister of Grenada and chair of CONSLE, Dr Keith Mitchell and was attended by Ministers with responsibility for National Security across CARICOM member states.

Discussions centred on strengthening the cooperative framework for security in the region including optimising resource allocation and the regional response for mitigating potential threats.

At the meeting, Trinidad and Tobago reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining regional security.
