The Emperor Valley Zoo will be temporarily closed from today (July 30).
In a statement on Wednesday, the Zoological Society of Trinidad and Tobago (ZSTT) said the decision was taken out of an abundance of caution and the need to provide a safe environment at the Emperor Valley Zoo.
It said the closure will allow the Zoo to enhance guidelines and policies for a COVID-19 free environment and put measures in place to strictly enforce safety measures , especially wearing of face masks and washing hands.
The ZSTT added that it places great value on all lives and will do all that is necessary to protect its staff and guests who comply with wearing of their face masks.
