10 homeless after Barrackpore fire

Amid the difficulties of the COVID-19 pandemic, 10 people must now find somewhere to sleep after a fire which damaged a house at Tin Pan Alley, Barrackpore. 

Loop News was told that around 7.45pm last night, officers received a report that a single-story home was on fire along Tin Pan Alley, Barrackpore.

Appliances from the Princes Town fire station were deployed and quickly contained the blaze.

However, the fire caused over $400,000 in damages to the building.

A Nissan BlueBird, which was parked in the garage of the complex, was also destroyed.

Fire officers are expected to return to the scene of the fire today to try to determine what caused the blaze.
