Update: Active cases climb to 2,121 as 13 more test positive

Thirteen more people have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the number of confirmed cases to 4,235 and active cases to 2,121.

Additionally, there are 10 new recovered community cases.

Recovered community cases refer to people who were previously COVID-19 positive and in self-isolation at home and subsequently met the discharge criteria and were released from self-isolation.

Meanwhile, in its 6 pm update on Thursday, the Ministry of Health said 30,055 samples have been submitted to the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA), the UWI and other local sites for testing for COVID-19.

To date, there have been 68 deaths, 898 discharges and 1,149 recovered community cases.

Eighty-six more people have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the number of confirmed cases to 4,222 and active cases to 2,118.

In its 10 am update on Thursday, the Ministry of Health said the 86 new patients will be processed for admission at the discretion of the CMOHs.

Fifteen patients have also been discharged from public health facilities.

Additionally, there have been 52 recovered community cases.

Recovered community cases refer to people who were previously COVID-19 positive and in self-isolation at home and subsequently met the discharge criteria and were released from self-isolation.

There are currently 94 patients at hospital.

Fifty-five patients are warded at the Couva Hospital and Multi-Training Facility.

Seven patients are in the Intensive Care Unit and seven in the High Dependency Unit.

There are also 23 patients at the Caura Hospital, four at the Arima General Hospital, two at the Augustus Long Hospital and 10 at the St. Ann’s Hospital.

A total of 102 patients are in step-down/transition facilities.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health indicated 29,961 samples have been submitted to the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA), the UWI and other local sites for testing for COVID-19.

A total of 26,898 unique patient tests have been completed while 3,063 tests have been repeated.

To date, 67 people have died from COVID-19.

There have been 898 discharges and 1,139 recovered community cases.
