Another COVID-19 death; 35 more positive cases, says Health Ministry

The Health Ministry has recorded another COVID-19 related death, bringing the death toll to 98, with 35 more positive cases. 

In today's 4pm update, the Ministry said the latest person is an elderly male with pre-existing medical conditions. 

The Ministry said additionally, 35 more people tested positive for the virus - they will be processed for admission to health facilities at the discretion of the County Medical Officers of Health (CMOHs).

The Ministry said to date, six more people have been discharged from public health facilities, with 56 more recovered community cases. 

To date, the number of active cases stands at 1,477 with 3,758 total recovered patients. 

There are currently 1,346 people in home isolation and 369 patients in state quarantine facilities. 

The total number of positive cases recorded to date stands at 5,333.

The Ministry said there are currently 80 patients at hospital; 59 at the Couva Hospital and Multi-Training Facility (five in ICU, 10 in HDU), 16 at the Caura Hospital, three at the Arima General Hospital (one in ICU), and three at the Scarborough General Hospital at the Fort. 

There are currently 51 patients at step-down facilities; 26 at the Claxton Bay Correctional Facility, 10 at the UWI, Debe campus, and 15 in Tobago.
