Western Division police are investigating a report of larceny in which engines from four vessels were stolen.

Police said the respective operators secured their boats at the Cocorite Fishing Center on Friday night.

However, when the operators returned around 5am on Saturday, they discovered the four vessels missing.

The police and coast guards were notified.

A search later in the morning resulted in all the boats found drifting in the Gulf of Paria.

However, their engines, anchors, and other equipment which were left on the vessels, had all been removed.

The overall estimate of the missing items is valued at over $100,000.

The vessels were returned to shore and examined.

Fishermen in March made a report of a similar theft.
