Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has directed the Cabinet-appointed committee set up to evaluate Request For Proposals for the use of the Petrotrin refinery to examine the latest position of the negotiating parties.
This follows an appeal by Patriotic Energies and Technologies Company Limited on Sunday for a review of its counterproposal, after Government rejected the offer a day earlier.
The Energy Ministry in a statement acknowledged that Patriotic met the deadline.
It said, however, that this examination and any subsequent recommendations resulting from this review will be separate and apart from the work and determination of the Cabinet Sub-Committee, which has also received the submissions.
The comments and recommendations of the reconstituted Evaluation Committee will be submitted directly to the Cabinet, it added.
The Ministry said this exercise of review and clarification is to be completed and submitted to Cabinet by November 30.
