Camille returns as Arouca/Maloney candidate
Incumbent MP Camille Robinson-Regis has been selected as the prospective People’s National Movement (PNM) candidate for the Arouca/Maloney constituency in the upcoming general election.
The constituency’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) Hayden Alexander confirmed that she had been selected as he extended congratulations on behalf of the constituency on her success before the screening committee.
Alexander noted that Robinson-Regis has had a tremendous impact on the constituency over the past five years, which he expects will result in greater success in the upcoming term.
He said: “She has been instrumental in the refurbishment of three community facilities, the construction of two additional communal spaces for sport development and has launched a myriad of social engagement and impact projects for those most in need within the constituency.”
He commended her “selfless service” to the community, her work with youth and at-risk members of society and her dedication to party and country.
He added: “Mrs Robinson-Regis is a mother, mentor, distinguished lady and an excellent representation of service before self. These facts bolster our confidence in the decision of the PNM Screening Committee in her selection to serve as the next Member of Parliament for the Constituency of Arouca/Maloney.”
Robinson-Regis, who currently serves as the Social Development Minister, has also held the portfolio of Planning and Development Minister. She serves as the PNM’s Lady Vice Chairman and Leader of Government Business in the House of Representatives.
