Entertainment media outlet TMZ is reporting that rapper Cardi B has filed for divorce from husband Offset.

The split reportedly comes nearing what would have been the couples’ third anniversary.

Cardi B, real name Belcalis Almanzar, wed the Migos rapper, whose real name is Kiari Cepheus in a secret ceremony back in September 2017.

According to TMZ, on Tuesday, Almanzar filed court documents in Georgia seeking a dissolution of marriage.

Reports also state that Almanzar is seeking sole legal and primary physical custody of the pair’s 2-year-old daughter, Kulture.

She is reportedly also seeking that Offset pay her legal expenses and is asking for “an equitable division of all marital assets”. The filing is reported to be a 'contested filing' meaning the two parties have not reached an agreement regarding the division of assets, so the split now requires judicial oversight.

Media reports state that the court documents make it clear that the two are currently separated with “no prospects for a reconciliation.”

Other media websites are reporting that the divorce filing comes amidst more rumours of cheating – this is not the first time Offset has been accused of infidelity in the relationship. Cardi B and Offset split briefly in late 2018 after he was involved in a scandal with another woman. The two reconciled in early 2019.
