Update: Four more samples sent for COVID-19 testing, no new cases

Four more samples have been submitted to the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) and UWI site for testing, according to the Ministry of Health's 6 pm clinical update.

The total number of samples sent for evaluation to date is 5,847.

Trinidad and Tobago has recorded 133 positive COVID-19 cases. Eight people have died while 124 people have recovered and have been discharged from the hospital.

Members of the public are reminded that they must adhere to the ‘New Normal’ recommendations and take personal health measures to protect themselves and their loved ones from the novel coronavirus.

The Ministry of Health is reporting that 5,843 samples have been sent for COVID-19 testing in Trinidad and Tobago. 

Of this figure, 4,384 represent unique patient tests while 1,459 are repeat tests. 

The country’s case total remains at 133, while the current, active caseload remains at one. This patient is still being cared for at the Caura Hospital. 

Despite eight deaths, Trinidad and Tobago has successfully treated 124 people for COVID-19.
