COVID-19 deaths climb to 104 as man becomes latest victim

The death toll as a result of the novel coronavirus has been pushed to 104 after a male with pre-existing medical conditions succumbed to the illness on Friday.

According to the Ministry of Health's daily clinical update, 41 more people have contracted COVID-19 locally from samples taken between October 20 and 22, taking the cumulative number of positives to 5,487.

Furthermore, 16 individuals have been discharged from public health facilities and there have been 53 recovered community cases. As such, total recoveries stand at 3,945 and active cases at 1,438.

To date, 32,009 people have been tested for the presence of the viral respiratory illness.

Meanwhile, 77 patients remain hospitalised, 44 are in step-down facilities, 266 in state quarantine and 1,317 in self-isolation.
