Cupid laid to rest as investigators approach DPP

Even as investigators are expected to approach the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for advice on how to proceed against a 41-year-old man, the funeral for the woman he is suspected of killing took place yesterday in San Fernando.

Relatives of Tineil Cupid paid their final respects at a service at JE Guide Funeral Home and Crematorium in San Fernando.

Following the service, she was cremated.

The service was observed by police, who ensured that public health regulations were upheld.

Cupid, 23, was found dead on October 13 at about 3:10pm in Santa Flora.

She was partially clothed and there were multiple marks of violence about her body, including a wound to her head.

She was last seen alive with the 41-year-old man, who police have been informed, was allegedly abusive.

The man was detained the following day for questioning at his home along Cotton Drive, Fyzabad, and has been aiding police with their inquiries since.
