Digicel activates Crisis Management Plan to weather coronavirus

Communications provider Digicel said it has activated its crisis management plan to keep customers connected following confirmation of coronavirus in Trinidad and Tobago.

According to Digicel Trinidad and Tobago CEO, Jabbor Kayumov: “Digicel understands the importance of keeping our customers, businesses and loved ones connected during times like these and have activated our Crisis Management Plan to ensure that there are no service disruptions as Trinidad and Tobago battles COVID-19.”

Kayumov said the company’s Emergency Management Team has been meeting, monitoring and planning for the various possibilities surrounding the coronavirus.

He continued: “We recognise our responsibility to help combat its spread in every way possible, while ensuring the safety of all staff members, customers and people. In light of this, all of our stores and offices will be sanitised as a precaution and moving forward we have implemented sanitisation zones at various key touchpoints.”

Digicel said its team will be working closely with the Ministry of Health, Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management and independent public health professionals to implement strict measures across all of its work locations to minimise the risk of staff contracting and spreading the disease.
