A returning officer has been charged with behaving disorderly and using obscene language.
The charges stem from an incident on Sunday morning in which the officer, Cecil Bailey, and Robert Quarless, got into a disagreement with personnel at the Moruga/Tableland constituency office located along Matilda Road, Princes Town.
At about 10.30am on Sunday, the two, along with a third person arrived at the office in Nissan Navarra. Quarless and Bailey exited the vehicle and approached PC Ramadhin. There was a confrontation during which the two men were asked their reasons for being at the secured location.
The confrontation became heated following which the two men were detained.
They were both charged with the same offences and were granted station bail of $10,000, by a Justice of Peace. The matters are expected to be called before the courts on September 1.
