Elderly female is latest COVID-19 victim; 59 community cases recovered

Fifty-nine people who previously tested positive for COVID-19 and were quarantined at home have recovered from the virus while five individuals have been discharged from public health facilities.

This was disclosed in the Ministry of Health’s daily update issued at 4 pm.

As such, total recoveries have risen to 3,367.

The statement also noted that 11 additional people have contracted the viral respiratory illness and will be processed for admission at the discretion of the County Medical Officers of Health.

Active cases now stand at 1,661.

Furthermore, one more positive patient has died. The victim is said to be an elderly female with pre-existing medical conditions. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 93.

To date, 5,127 people have been infected with the novel coronavirus locally.

Of that total, 1,516 are in self-isolation and 104 are hospitalised as follows:
