Fraud Squad investigating missing pension cheques

Fraud Squad officers are investigating a report in which 45 pension cheques had been stolen.

The cheques were to be issued to 45 people in Tobago for the month of February.

However, they never arrived.

The cheques were instead cashed in a supermarket in Trinidad.

The victims, when they never received the money, notified the police.

A report was also made by officials from TT Post, Loop News was told.

Investigators from the Fraud Squad were contacted and an inquiry was launched.

Arrests are said to be imminent.
