Galleon's Passage turns back due to technical issue, says NIDCO
The Galleon's Passage was forced to turn back while en route to Tobago due to a technical issue.
The National Infrastructure Development Company Limited (NIDCO) said in a statement issued Friday that the vessel has departed Port of Spain on Friday, bound for Scarborough, when it experienced a technical issue during sailing.
NIDCO said further to the investigation, the captain of the vessel took the decision to return to the Port of Port of Spain.
The company said upon arrival at the Port further inspection would begin and all the relevant works would be undertaken.
The company said all affected passengers would be accommodated on an afternoon sailing of the T&T Spirit on Friday, May 22, 2020.
"We wish to assure the public that safety remains NIDCO's priority and apologise for the inconvenience caused," NIDCO said.
