Heritage Petroleum Company Limited has stepped up patrols near Wilson Road in Barrackpore after several of its gas lines were cut.

The company in a statement on Sunday noted that several of its three-inch gas lines were found to be cut, following a report of sabotage near the Gathering Station No.3 in Barrackpore around 10.15 am on Friday.

Security officers responded and found the lines were cut.

They searched the area and found a 100 lb propane gas cylinder, a 100 lb oxygen cylinder, a cutting torch, chains and rope.

Heritage Petroleum said the lines were inactive, avoiding a “very serious incident”.

The company cautioned against with its assets as it said this can result in serious and “quite possibly fatal injury” to those engaging in sabotage and others nearby.
