Hyatt Regency introduces Saturday brunch

Hyatt Regency’s famous Sunday brunch is now available on Saturdays.

The Saturday brunch runs from 11.30 am to 2.30 pm and you can usher in the weekend with a smorgasbord of food at your leisure.

Loop was recently invited to participate in the new Saturday brunch in the dining room which has been spaced out for social distancing.

In keeping with COVID-19 protocols, there are no physical menus on the tables. Instead, diners can scan a QR code which takes them to the Hyatt Regency website and the menu options.

Patrons are served buffet items instead of serving themselves and masks are required in the dining area once you are not eating.

The menu ranges from the popular doubles to delectable desserts.

On the day we attended, Jamaican chef?? Whipped up a main course of Jamaican rice and peas, a river style curry stew chicken, grilled Mahi Mahi Passionfruit Burre Blanc, saltfish buljol, tomato and baigan chokas, fire grilled flank steak with red wine balsamic reduction, corned beef, French toast, pancakes and herb roasted vegetables in pesto butter.

There were an assortment of cheeses and cold cuts and to satisfy the sweet tooth, banana bread, chocolate chip Danish, and an assortment of muffins, onion and mushroom pockets, mini pizzas and cookies as well as an assortment of breads.

Salad items were also available with some greens grown on site in the hotel’s hydroponic garden as well as the usual cereals and breakfast items such as omelettes that you can also order specially.

Not to be outdone, the drinks menu was just as impressive with an assortment of cocktails including mojitos and passionfruit mimosas.

The Saturday Bruch costs TT$249.00 (tax not included).
