Man stabbed to death in altercation in St Ann's

A 42-year-old man has died following an altercation with another man in St Ann’s on Thursday. 

According to police, around 12.45 pm, the man was at his home in St Ann’s when an altercation between him and another man ensued. Reports say the second man threatened him with a broken glass bottle. 

A third man who was at the scene attempted to intervene, but he was stabbed in his left arm.  

During the struggle, the 42-year-old man sustained stab wounds to the neck. 

Both injured men were taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital for treatment, but the 42-year-old was pronounced dead on arrival.  

A suspect has been detained in relation to the incident. 

Investigations are ongoing.
