Update: Adverse weather alert discontinued

Update June 28, 2020: 

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service has discontinued an adverse weather alert.

In an update, the Met Office said most of the impactful weather has dissipated. however, persistent light showers accompanied by gusty winds may continue to affect a few areas.

The public is urged to continue to monitor weather conditions and updates from official sources via www.metoffice.gov.tt and www.odpm.gov.tt

The Meteorological Service of Trinidad and Tobago has announced that a Yellow Level Adverse Weather Alert is in effect for both islands. 

The adverse weather currently being experienced is expected to last until at least 1pm on Saturday, June 27. 

The alert describes that a low level trough with favourable upper level conditions is currently over the area and resulting in occasional thunderstorms which have been accompanied by wind gusts in excess of 75 km/h. 

Those in susceptible areas are advised to monitor conditions as it relates to flooding and other weather-related activities.
