Update: Adverse weather alert discontinued

Update October 25, 2020:

An adverse weather alert which was issued for Friday into Saturday has since been discontinued.

In an update Saturday afternoon, the Met Office said: 'Most of the thunderstorm activity occurred offshore and conditions are improving.'

The public is advised to continue to monitor the Met Office via official channels for the latest updates.

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS/Met Office) has issued a yellow level alert warning of inclement weather set to begin at 11 pm on Friday and end at 2 pm on Saturday.

According to the adverse weather bulletin, T&T is forecast to experience occasional heavy showers and thunderstorm activity over various parts of both islands. Gusty winds and flash flooding are also predicted.

The Met Office also noted that while some areas are presently experiencing isolated thunderstorms, this activity will increase after midnight.
