Ministry to continue distributing homes, but not on a 'mass scale'
The Ministry of Housing through the Housing Development Corporation is still continuing to distribute homes, but not on a 'mass scale' as previously undertaken.
In statement on Thursday, the Ministry said the keys for homes are being distributed, but in a more socially responsible way, whereby homeowners are contacted and are asked to collect their packages individually.
It added that it has been providing daily COVID-19 updates to staff and public via its Facebook page, intranet and website.
The Ministry said its Health and Safety committee has been re-convened and tasked with the responsibility of ensuring a safe and clean workplace.
It said it also implemented a more rigid system of cleaning all office spaces, inclusive of doors, handles, washrooms, reception areas and concern rooms.
The Ministry added that staff have been urged to exhibit wisdom as it relates to social distancing, practicing proper personal hygiene and those who are experiencing symptoms have been urged to stay at home.
It added that its Housing Policy Facilitation and Implementation Unit (HPFIU) has suspended all interviews for grants.
However, members who wish to obtain further information can contact the Ministry's hotline at 623-4663 ext 2054.
