New public health regulations in effect: Bars open until 10 pm

Effective today, bars will be allowed to open until 10 pm.

Bars were previously allowed to open until 10 pm, but following reports that patrons were crowding bars and not following social distancing guidelines Government announced that bars would instead close at 8 pm.

Under the new public health regulations, bars are again permitted to open until 10 pm.

Bar owners who began legal action against the state for the initial change in opening hours, however, have not withdrawn their case.

No other adjustments to the regulations were made.

The new Public Health [2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-Ncov)] (No. 22) Regulations, 2020 dated July 18 are in effect from July 19 (today) to September 30.
