No witnesses in New Grant murder

Even though 24-year-old Nicanor Mohammed was shot at least 15 times, residents of Hindustan Road, New Grant, are claiming that they did not hear any gunshots.

In fact, many who were interviewed at the scene following the shooting, and even yesterday when investigators returned to the scene, denied knowing the 24-year-old.

According to reports, around 7.45 pm on Sunday, an anonymous caller contacted the Tableland Police Station and reported that explosions were heard at Brown Avenue, Hindustan.

Police responded and upon arrival observed a man lying face down in a yard with gunshot wounds about the body.

He was taken to the Princes Town Health Facility, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police say the victim sustained multiple wounds to the chest, abdomen, arms and forehead.
