Non-Immigrant Visa interview waiver documents will not be returned

Starting June 1, documents submitted to the U.S. Embassy-Port-of-Spain in support of a Non-Immigrant Visa (NIV) interview waiver application will not be returned, other than the applicant’s valid and expired passports.

Supporting documents submitted before June 1, will be returned per the current practice.

According to a statement issued by the Embassy, this is meant to "simplify the process for both the Embassy and the applicants - enabling us to process applications faster and return passports and visas back to applicants quicker."

When applying for your visas online, the system tells you based on information entered, whether you qualify for our interview waiver and what documents to submit in your package.

The Embassy added that if it has additional questions about applicants' interview waiver application, it will contact them with further instructions.
