Prime Minister, Dr Keith Rowley and Tobago House of Assembly (THA) Chief Secretary, Ancil Dennis visited a number of farms in Tobago today.
In a statement following the visits, the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) reported that the PM was ‘particularly pleased to meet young people among the farmers. He said if they are supported and encouraged agriculture has quite a future in Tobago’.
OPM added that ‘Tobago is fortunate in that it has some of the best soils, noting that the Tobago farmer can support not just the population in Tobago, but can make a considerable contribution to the 1.2 million in Trinidad.’
Tobago’s agriculture is expected to benefit from the sector’s 2021 budget allocation.
