PM on Kamla: I have no time for games!
Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley is slamming Opposition Leader, Kamla Persad Bissessar after she wrote to him requesting a bi-partisan meeting to discuss COVID-19.
Dr Rowley said he was unsure of what to make of Persad-Bissessar's request since last Friday, her party was opposed to letting him continue the government’s response to the virus.
“I am not prepared to take part in any political grandstanding,” he said.
“I am prepared to work with anyone and everybody in this country who is prepared to act in the interest of the people of Trinidad and Tobago,” he continued.
He says if the Opposition Leader is prepared to have a mature conversation on the way forward, he welcomes the effort, but it must be taken seriously.
“This is not a joke, this is a serious situation, this is life and death and I am not playing games. There are people in the opposition who can come here and make serious contributions and I welcome them, but Mrs Persad Bissessar is not one of them,” he implored.
