Police arrest Morvant dancehall artist

Police said a dancehall artiste was arrested in San Juan on Saturday night.

Police said that the man, who is from Second Caledonia, Morvant, was held during a routine roadblock along Lady Young Road.

He was in the front passenger seat at the time.

When officers asked the female driver for her permit and insurance information, however, she was unable to provide them.

However, while she was being detained, the artiste began to complain and allegedly cursed at the officers.

This led to a warning, following which the man allegedly continued to act out. Police said he was then arrested.

Police said that he also allegedly resisted arrest.

Eventually, he was taken in custody and to the Morvant police station, where he was charged for the offences.

More on this as it becomes available.
